George W. Bush 43rd President of the United States

George W. Bush was sworn into office on January 20, 2001 and served as Commander in Chief for two consecutive terms. Since leaving office, President Bush has focused his attention on developing the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, which will encompass the Presidential Library and Museum, Archives, and the George W. Bush Institute. The Institute, which President Bush announced in the fall of 2009, will advance the principles that guided him during his time in public service and has four areas of engagement: education, global health, human freedom, and economic growth, and two cross-cutting areas that permeate the four: the women's initiative and social entrepreneurship. The Institute will engage in action oriented research and create partnerships with foundations, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, government entities, and faith-based organizations. The Institute's mission is to turn ideas into action.

Michael Maslansky

Michael Maslansky spends a great deal of time thinking about why some messages stick and others don't, and why sometimes the right word at the right time can make all the difference in creating successful communications. As CEO of Maslansky Luntz & Partners, Maslansky advises Fortune 500 companies, industry associations, and professional communicators on language strategies that shift perceptions and move markets. His book, The Language of Trust: Selling Ideas in a World of Skeptics explores new words, new phrases, and new communication techniques to address situations where there appears to be a "failure to communicate." This exciting general session program will feature a live focus group onstage providing ISRI attendees with a unique view into the minds of the target audience.
