The 2010 ISRI Convention and Exposition explores "success" in the scrap recycling industry, celebrating economic progress in the past year and working to define success in the coming decade.

The 2010 convention will feature general session programs on each of the convention days. Contracts are still in negotiation, with speakers expected to be announced by year's end. Attendees can expect programs featuring prominent world leaders on topics including economics and trade. As always, the ISRI convention will feature spotlight sessions on all major commodities. The education program will be rounded out with a host of topical, informative workshop sessions and commodity-specific programs.

Paper and recovered fiber recycling is the newest segment to be fully incorporated into convention programming as ISRI's Paper Stock Industries (PSI) Chapter moves to participate more fully in the convention. The PSI chapter will hold its semiannual chapter meeting during the convention as well.

Hotel Update: 2010 ISRI Convention Hotels – Marriott Sleeping Room Rate Reduced

Despite a strong demand for lodging for the ISRI Convention and Exposition the Marriott Hotel & Marina has lowered the ISRI convention room rate to $249/night from the $259 rate originally offered. Those who have already made reservations at the Marriott will automatically receive the new rate.

Room blocks at the two contracted hotels—the Marriott Hotel & Marina and the Manchester Grand Hyatt—are already nearly 40 percent full just a few weeks after the blocks opened for reservations.
